Project Gigabit – Public Review Launch in Leicestershire, Warwickshire and surrounding areas

The government is on a mission to deliver lightning-fast, reliable broadband to everyone in the UK and is investing £5 billion in Project Gigabit to ensure that hard-to-reach communities are not left out. Building Digital UK (BDUK) is carrying out a Public Review to help identify areas in Leicestershire, Warwickshire and surrounding areas that may be suitable for future public funding for gigabit-capable broadband.

Project Gigahubs Update

The Government is delivering the biggest broadband upgrade in UK history, providing reliable, lightning-fast connections nationwide across the length and breadth of the UK.

Leicestershire County Council are working in collaboration with Building Digital UK (BDUK) to bring Gigabit capable broadband to rural public sector sites within Leicestershire.

Openreach News Release

Openreach to upgrade thousands across Leicestershire to Full Fibre

Upgrades for three million more premises in the toughest third of the UK supporting UK Government target of making Gigabit capable broadband available to 85% of country by 2025.
• Includes around 25,000 homes and businesses in Leicestershire.
